Two court cases deal with Spalding bike thefts

Two men have pleaded guilty to thefts of bikes in and around Spalding in separate trials.

Thomas Parr of Lyttleport Close in Pinchbeck pleaded guilty to three sperate thefts at Lincoln Magistrates Court.

The 22-year-old admitted stealing bikes worth £325 from outside McDonalds in Spalding on September 24, worth £297 from outside Sainsbury’s the next day and worth £250 from an address on Westlode Street on October 16.

Parr was ordered to pay compensation totalling £622.

As part of a community order he was also told comply with alcohol and drug rehabilitation treatment.

* In a separate case Shane Cooper of Church Street admitted to Lincoln Magistrates Court taking the bike worth £350 in Spalding town centre on October 23.

He also pleaded guilty to being in possession of an article for use in the course of theft, namely bolt croppers.

He was committed to prison for eight weeks suspended for 12 months and ordered to pay £50 compensation.
