Grand milestone for fundraiser

A weekly sale started during lockdown to help keep a village hall afloat has reached a grand milestone.

In May Pinchbeck Village Hall began the initiative as a one-off to raise funds while not being used due to the lockdown.

But it’s proved a success and is now being held every Saturday morning between 10am and 12pm.

And so far it’s raised over £1,000 for the Knight Street venue.

It’s run by the hall’s chair Chris Schofield, Barbara Smith and Cliff and Leslie Brickles

The hall’s Alan Hansard said: “We decided to started to have a book stall on a Saturday morning, just to see if there would be any interest, that was way back in May, and is now a weekly event at the hall.

“The book sales were soon joined by puzzles, CDs, and DVDs, and more recently, plants.

“During the summer months the stalls were outside, but when the weather turned they were moved indoors with all government guidelines being closely followed and signage and sanitisers in place.

“The book stall will continue as long as the interest is there every Saturday morning.

“All books, puzzles, CDs, DVDs etc have been donated by the kind people of the area, for which we are very appreciative.

“Recently we reached a fantastic figure of more than £1,000 in sales over the last few months, thank you everyone for your generosity.

“All monies go towards the Pinchbeck Village Hall refurbishment fund.”
