While their 1st XI were without a fixture, Long Sutton 2nd XI lost to Baston in South Lincs and Border League East Two.
Home side Sutton were up against it almost from the start as Baston elected to bat first on winning the toss.
Openers Andy Keen and Anthony Morris then enjoyed a partnership of 121.
While Morris anchored scoring 56, Keen was the aggressor with his eventual tally of 79 from just 62 balls.
He was second out with the score on 142 after both openers were bowled by Adam Whitaker who took 4-29 and provided a bit of hope for Sutton.
He also bowled the number three batsman Jules McAlpine (27) after he’d played his part in a partnership of 40 with Ben Hudson (38).
Hudson’s knock was a nearly a-run-a-ball 38 before Charlie Crisp struck.
He claimed 3-20 from five overs as Baston continued the quick scoring rate into the final over during which Jeremy Smith effected two run outs and Baston closed on an impressive 232-9.
That left Sutton needing to go at nearly a-run-a-ball themselves.
They lost Smith (2) with just seven on the board, but Connie Gittins and Adam Whitaker rebuilt and attempted to keep up with the run rate.
The pair put on 47 for the second wicket with Whitaker scoring a quick fire 28 before being bowled. His dismissal alongside Gittins being caught and bowled for 31 sparked a collapse as Sutton slipped from 54-1 to 79-6 and then 92-7.
The tail did rally, largely thanks to a stubborn 24 not out from number six Ed Munson and Joe Whitaker’s 19.
But Long Sutton were left 131 all out in the 36th over as Baston claimed a 101 run victory.
Jules McAlpine’s 3-8 was the pick of the visiting side’s bowling.
