Zebra’s annual Halloween ‘Spooktacular’ event proves to be monster hit

A Spalding band’s regular ‘Spooktacular’ proved a success and raised hundreds of pounds in memory of a woman who died from a brain aneurysm.

On Saturday (October 30) Zebra’s annual Halloween special returned with the group of musicians playing a free ball at The Deepings Stage.

And this year was a poignant one as part of the £300 raised on the night was donated to Kidney Research in memory of mum-of-five Rachel Carter, of Whaplode, who died suddenly in May and whose husband Daniel has had a kidney transplant.

Money was also raised for the charity Ella’s Project, set up by Zebra member Mark Le Sage.

He said: “It was a great night and there was a lovely atmosphere.

“Everyone had a fabulous time.

“We’re really grateful to all the people who came and who donated.

“A huge thanks also to everyone at The Deepings Stage. It was the first time they’ve done it and they really went to down with turning the place into a haunted mansion.

“It looked absolutely amazing and they’ve all been great to work with.”

Rachel’s daughter Cassie Hall, said: “We are very grateful to all those kind and generous people who donated raffle prizes.”
