Your chance to name newborn reindeer

What would you name a baby reindeer?

Obviously Rudolph, Dasher, Dancer, Blitzen and a few others come to mind, but it’s time to think outside the box!

Staff at Baytree Garden Centre at Weston have welcomed three calves into their herd of reindeer and are giving readers of The Voice the chance to name them.

William Wallis said: “We’ve had the reindeer for about 15 years and the herd started off as just two.

“Over the years it’s grown steadily with the birth of two or three calves a year and we now have a herd of 15 reindeer.

“The babies were born on Thursday and Friday and we thought it would be nice to ask Voice readers to suggest some names for them.”

The reindeer, which live in a field at Weston, have all got names and are looked after by William and his granddad, Reinhard Biehler.

William added: “They live in a field behind our house and we treat them like pets.

“At Christmas we move some in the garden centre as well as loaning some out to other garden centres.”

The person who suggests the winning names will receive a £50 Baytree gift voucher and a family pass for four people for the Winter Wonderland when it opens at Christmas.

All you have to do is send your suggested names for all three babies to Baytree Reindeer Competition, The Spalding Voice, 14-16 Winsover Road, Spalding, PE11 1EJ.

You can also email your suggestions to [email protected]

The competition closes on June 30 and the winner will be announced in The Voice on July 7.
