Youngsters’ efforts on the big screen

Young film-makers were given a chance to show off their skills in a competition run by Spalding’s South Holland Centre.

The centre’s second Stop-Frame Animation Competition was run to celebrate the screenings of Shaun the Sheep Movie during the Easter holiday.

Entrants were invited to submit their own original film of no longer than two minutes using stop frame animation.

The films were allowed to have any theme, but had to contain sheep.

There were two age categories and the winning films were screened before every showing of Shaun the Sheep at the centre between April 1 and 11.

The winners were Evie Fuller (12) and Georgie Van Dyke (10), who each won a family ticket to any screening of the film, a £10 Amazon voucher and an Easter egg.

In preparation for the competition, the centre ran a stop frame animation workshop with Enriched IT.
Another workshop will be held during the summer holidays.
