World Parkinson’s Day is marked

South Holland and the Deepings MP Sir John Hayes attended an event to support World Parkinson’s Day on Friday, April 11.

During the event, Sir John met with individuals living with Parkinson’s to hear first-hand about their experiences, including difficulties in accessing specialist healthcare, a national shortage of Parkinson’s nurses and consultants, and the financial strain that often comes with managing the condition.
He said: “It was incredibly rewarding to meet with people affected by Parkinson’s and to hear their personal stories.
“Their determination is inspiring, and I am 100 percent committed to doing everything I can to assist their cause – especially in South Holland and The Deepings.
“I will be advocating to the government that more be done to ensure treatments are not only more readily available, but as affordable as possible.”
