Window on new look church

A new stained glass window has been erected in a Spalding church in memory of former preachers.

The work was part of renovations to Spalding Methodist Church which held an open day last Saturday to showcase them.

The window was donated by Doff Pollard in memory of parents Fred and Isobel Pollard, who for many years were local preachers in South Holland. Doff, who now lives in Whitby, attended the event with family members.

The Rev Frances Ballantyne, said the church was a realisation of plans dating back to 2005.

“I was honoured to lead the thanksgiving service on the Sunday morning, after an opportunity on the Saturday for many to view the refurbishments.

“So many people had contributed over the years. This weekend was the beginning of the next phase, and with new church leadership arriving in September, we are looking forward to exploring new opportunities to meet with the local community and to grow in our fellowship together.”
