The sky is literally the limit for a South Holland woman who is raising money for charity by leaping from an aeroplane later this year.
Lisa Piccinelli is looking forward to her charity parachute jump in October, even if her mother Ann is less sure.
Lisa (33) has autism, epilepsy and learning difficulties but is determined to help two charities by taking to the air.
“I am really nervous – but Lisa isn’t,” said her mum Ann.
Mother and daughter sold their own recipe books during lockdown to raise the £200 cost of the jump so that any money raised from sponsorship can go to the charities and not in fees.
“We were cooking on Zoom for our friends at the Chappell Centre in Spalding and we put our recipes into a book and sold them for donations,” said Ann.
The popular dishes demonstrated through the weekly cooking guides included salted caramel mince pies and coconut tarts.
“We had people tuning in from other day care centres around Lincolnshire. It was a really good way of keeping everyone in touch during the lockdown,” she added.
Now people are back together at the centres, the Zoom cookery sessions have stopped but the software is being used for some lessons.
Lisa will be heading to the Sibson Airfield on September 10 when she will take part in the parachute jump.
Her friends at the Chappell Centre are hoping to go along on the day and support her.
She is aiming to raise £500 which will be divided between the Chappell Centre, in Pinchbeck Road, and the Lincoln Rape Crisis Centre where her mum also works.
“I am looking forward to it but a little bit scared,” said Lisa.
