Wilson has his eyes on front of the pack ahead of Thruxton trip

Ben Wilson is bidding to return to form in the Dickies British Supersport Championship this weekend as he makes the trip to Thruxton.

Kirton racer Wilson will contest the two races comprising of the seventh round at the Hampshire circuit, as he bids to close on the four riders currently above him in the overall standings.

The Gearlink Kawasaki ace rode to a brace of tenth places at Snetterton last time out on a track that is not one of his more favoured places.

Wilson is aiming for better time of it this weekend and wants to be closer to the front of the pack.

He said: “It was a really tough weekend at Snetterton for us.

“We struggled throughout but I managed to pick up some points and now we must move on to Thruxton and be back near the front again.”

Wilson has finished most of his races this season in fourth place and, after the glitch at Snetterton, he will be looking to return to form at the ultra-fast and bumpy Thruxton circuit.

Timetable: Friday – free practice 9.30am and 1.30pm. Saturday – qualifying 11.10amp; 12-lap sprint race 5.10pm. Sunday – warm-up 11.10am; 18-lap feature race 3.40pm.

  • The three-man G&S Racing Kawasaki squad travels to Hampshire for a round of the Pirelli Superstock 1000 and 600 championships at Thruxton this weekend.

All three riders will be seeking some strong, points finishes as we enter the second half of the season.

It will be a race against time for the crew to get the Stock 1000 bike back up and running to allow Milo Ward to return to race action following his crash at Snetterton last time out. Ward, along with another three riders crashed on the opening lap and the bike was all but destroyed in the incident.

The two Stock 600 riders, Kevin Keyes and TJ Toms, will be anxious to get back to race action and after a good showing at Snetterton both will be looking for a top five finish to their race on Sunday.

Timetable: Superstock 600: Friday – free practice 9am and 1pm. Saturday – qualifying 12.30pm; free practice 6.15pm. Sunday – 14-lap race 11.30am.

Superstock 1000: Friday – free practice 11.35am and 4.05pm. Saturday – qualifying 11.50am. Sunday – Warm up 8.55am; 16-lap race 12.35pm.
