The race is on to be the top Lincolnshire side in the Thurlow Nunn Eastern Counties League.
After trailing neighbours Holbeach throughout the season, Pinchbeck United moved to within five points of them thanks to a 2-0 win over AFC Sudbury Reserves on Saturday.
The Knights are at Holland, in Essex, on Saturday and then welcome whipping boys Swaffham, before the season’s final match, at Holbeach to decide local honour. The reverse fixture on Boxing Day saw Holbeach emerge 4-0 victors, so the visitors will be keen for revenge.
Saturday brought a dominant win for the Knights as they chalked up a third consecutive clean sheet and stretched their unbeaten run to five games.
Andre Williams’ curling free-kick from just outside the penalty area put them ahead after 23 minutes and moments before the break he turned provider to fire over a cross for Krisztian Gagyi to head home.
Knights: Martin, Gagyi, Doran (Tate), Melson, Cranfield, Balding (Ratley), Howlett, Panton (Thorrold), Slater, Cullen, Williams (Ward).
