Whaplode school’s ‘market’ a success

Staff and pupils at Whaplode Primary school were delighted by the community’s response to their first Farmers’ Market.
The market was organised as part of the school’s “Unity in the community” week which saw all classes take part in a variety of activities, including a tea party organised by Year 6 pupils.
A wide variety of local stall holders came along for the afternoon to sell their products, including plants, vegetables, craft items and natural beauty products. Each class in the school also had their own stall, selling products which they had made during the week.
Headteacher, Alison Flack was delighted by the response.
She said: “It was amazing to see so many here today. It’s quite overwhelming to see how people have responded to the idea of a community market and we can’t wait to do another one.”
