Waste survey plea

South Holland District Council has had over 2,000 responses to its ongoing consultation on the future of waste services, it’s been revealed.

More concerns are also being aired about people putting their rubbish out too early.
At a full council meeting Coun Manzur Hasan asked what had been done about fly-tipping in the St John’s area of Spalding following ‘numerous complaints’ because of the early presentation of rubbish.
Coun Anthony Casson responded that council officers had been through rubbish bags but had been unable to find evidence to prove who was responsible.
“I can’t put a gun to people’s head,” said Coun Jack Tyrrell of the early presentation of rubbish. “I wish I could but I can’t.”
He asked people to take part in the survey, which runs until August 25.
“It’s going well, we had over 2,000 responses in less than ten days.
“I encourage everyone to get involved. 2,000 is not a lot when you’ve 45,000 houses.
“I do hope we get something like 10,000.
“I don’t want people to complain about it after the fact.
“You’ve all got a chance to do this. It’s so simple, it’s online or you can pick a form up.
“It’s been advertised everywhere so I urge everyone to get involved.
“Don’t come complaining to me after.”
