Waste fire seen for miles

Fire crews were called to West Pinchbeck on Monday (June 19) night to a fire that had gotten out of control.

Crews from Spalding and Bourne were called to the incident at 9.35pm.

There was damage to 20 tonnes of waste, six trees and one high-voltage transformer.

Crews were on scene until around 12.15am the next day.

A spokesman said: “The cause of the fire was controlled burning left unattended.”
