Warning about thieves as Spalding shopper loses £750

A shopper who lost £750 in Spalding on Monday is warning people to be aware of thieves targeting people withdrawing cash.

She believes the money was stolen from her handbag while she was in Card Factory in Hall Place.
The woman had just been to HSBC in Market Place and thinks she was either followed or someone watching “gave the nod” to a third party as she made her way to the card shop.

The woman, who is from Spalding but asked not be named, said a foreign female was acting strangely around her in the shop, jostling her on more than one occasion.

The shopper said: “It’s made me mad. That money was mine and it annoys me that somebody thinks they can take what they want.
“If this story can stop someone else becoming a victim – somebody who has saved all year – then that will be a good thing to come out of it.”
