Ward is Pinchbeck’s last-gasp master blaster

A late comeback earned Pinchbeck United an unlikely Thurlow Nunn League point on Saturday.
The Knights looked dead and buried when they trailled Gorleston Reserves at the Sir Halley Stewart Field with just five minutes to go.
However, the visitors lost a player to two yellow cards and the extra man suddenly paid off for Lewis Thorogood’s team.
Man of the match Flynn Slater pulled one back and then substitute JJ Ward blasted home a 20-yard rocket with the last kick of stoppage time to make it 2-2.
Pinchbeck fielded new signing Josh Doran, the Boston United Academy youngster signed from Holbeach United.
Manager Thorogood said: “I’m really pleased Josh has chosen to join us. He fits the profile and dynamics of the players we look for and is familiar with the group. I’ve no doubt he will kick on.”
Logan Tate was also back from injury to boost squad numbers.
Taylor Jaine was named as player of the month for October.
Knights v Gorleston: Martin, Jaine, Kacirek (Ward), Melson (Stevens), Brooks, Cranfield (Balding), Howlett (Panton), Doran, Slater, Cullen, Gagyi. Sub: Tate.
Attendance: 48.
l Honours also finished even at Carter’s Park, where Holbeach United drew their Division One North encounter with Holland 1-1.
Harvey Thorne blazed the Tigers into a 27th-minute lead but the Essex visitors pulled level just after the hour-mark.
Tigers v Holland: Simpson, Greenacre, Ling, Roberts, Oldham, Carter, Compton, Thorne, Hamilton, Keeble, Cook. Subs: West, Ibeneme, Lee, Fowler.
Attendance: 89.
