Long Sutton leapfrogged Woodhall Spa Seconds at the foot of the South Lincs Border League Championship after their visitors scratched from their scheduled match.
It gave Sutton their first win of the season and moved them nine points clear.
In Division One, Sutton Seconds scraped to victory at Ancaster with just one wicket to spare. They could have given themselves more breathing space after reducing their hosts to 120/7 but let them off the hook to finish on 184/9 after 45 overs, despite a three-wicket haul from Rob Simpson (3-35).
The reply got off to a shaky start at 36/3 before Dinesh Elangovan (47) and Rajesh Ponnam (26) put on 80 and Daniel Oldfield weighed in with 30.
Things looked grim at 152/8 but Akith Mandala (22no) held his nerve to guide them over the line on 185/9 in the 41st over.
A late flurry from Ellis Redden (34) and Steve Milnes (28) helped Sutton Mallards recover from 77/7 to post 150 in the Mid-Norfolk Sunday League. Aranda Munasinghege (33) had done the early spade work. Ajay Jina (2-16) and Alastair Drohan (2-19) got the best figures of Sutton’s eight bowlers in the reply but they were unable to stop the hosts reaching 152/7 in 26 overs.
