A South Holland primary school continues to be rated as Good by Ofsted.
A report on Sutton St James Community Primary School said leaders ‘have worked tirelessly to create a strong sense of community that includes all pupils, parents and staff.’
The report says pupils feel safe and valued and the staff team are ‘ambitious and dedicated to doing the very best.’
With 102 pupils on the roll, the school is described as smaller than average and it also offers a breakfast club.
“Pupils are polite and friendly to each other. They unanimously say that they enjoy school. Pupils missed being with their friends during national lockdown. They are glad to be back in school. Pupils behave well and have charming manners,” says the report.
Reading is given a high priority at the school and pupils enjoy reading. They also enjoy PE and one pupil told the team “I love physical education because it is fun and we like to get active.”
Leaders ensure the children experience a broad and interesting curriculum while teachers adapt it, when required, to meet the needs of pupils with special educational needs.
The school offers a wide range of after school clubs and welcomes visits by church leaders to ‘deepen their spirityal and moral understanding.’
“Pupils learn about different religions, cultures and families. Leaders have planned a curriculum that includes a variety of memorable experiences for pupils,” says the report.
The school was judged to be Good in its last report in September 2016.
