Village crowns its carnival royalty

Pinchbeck has crowned its carnival queen and attendants for the year.

Bryony Sweeting will take the top position at the village’s carnival on Saturday, June 10.

And she’ll be joined by princes Nathaniel Garfoot and Edward Bates in helping to lead the procession.

The judging was held at a special cabaret night at Pinchbeck Village Hall on Saturday.
Pavanotti, aka Jeff Woods, compered the night which also saw several musical performances, including the Pinchbeck Tappers and Bryony herself who sung two songs alongside mum Cath.

District council member Elizabeth Sneath, Jan Whitbourn and Tim Ablett judged the young hopefuls wanting to be the carnival royalty and chose Bryony as queen.

Organiser John Pailing, said: “It was a really good night and lovely to see so many inspiring young people.

“We’ve now got our royalty ready for Junes 10’s carnival and we’re all looking forward to what we know will be a fantastic occasion.”
