Work on the Spalding to Pinchbeck ‘active travel improvement project’ is continuing until Christmas.
During August the west side footway will be completed, vegetation cleared for lighting columns, footway and drainage work done, alongside new traffic signals.
The road from West Elloe Avenue to King’s Road will remain a one-way system northbound to mid October.
National Grid will also be working in the area during the lane closures.
The timings for the first phase have slipped from initial completion in mid-September to October, but the county council says it will have no impact on the final completion date of December.
Phase two of the scheme will run from West Elloe Avenue to Park Road to early September and see multi-way temporary traffic signals.
Traffic restrictions and closures will see a one-way system on Pinchbeck Road, north of Park Road junction.
Woolram Wygate will be completely closed for the duration and Cadent will be completing gas works at the same time.
Phase four runs from Hospital Road to Woolram Wygate and is scheduled from early September to mid-December.
There will still be a one-way system on Pinchbeck Road and access to the hospital will be from the north.
The sign-posted diversion will be via Spalding Road, Wardentree Lane/A16/Holbeach Road/West Elloe Avenue and vice versa.
So far the first phase of National Grid work has been completed.
Any timelines for the scheme’s progress are also dependant on weather
conditions.
