Firm’s summer special for club

A firm which has set up a lunch club for the over 60s to meet in the area has put on a special summer celebration for attendees.

The Myton Food Group, which oversees Morrisons, has created the Over 60s Lunch Club from the Pinchbeck store.

It meets monthly and aims to combat isolation.

Recently it looked to put on an outdoor picnic for lunch club attendees.

A strong wind meant an indoor venue had to be found, but The Vista in Spalding stepped up to host.

Chairman of South Holland District Council Jan Whitbourn was invited as the special guest.

Tina Ellis, community champion of the Myton Group, said: “We were delighted with how the afternoon turned out and proved that a bit of wind was never going to stop us from putting on this event.

“Seeing everyone enjoy food, chatting and laughing together was heartwarming.

“Community is at the core of everything we do at Myton Food Group and this was a perfect reminder of why these events matter.

“We would also like to thank everyone at the Vista for their kindness in allowing us to use their facilities.

“Myton strives to bring people together and make a positive local impact.”
