UKIP parliamentary candidate David Parsons: Let’s debate immigration impact on South Holland and The Deepings

A public debate on the impact of immigration in South Holland and the Deepings is on the cards.

The newly-selected UKIP parliamentary candidate for South Holland and the Deepings says the party is not against immigration, but wants a properly controlled points-based system with secure borders.
David Parsons said: “This will never be the case if we remain in the EU.”

For nine years he was leader of Leicestershire County Council – one of the most ethnically diverse areas in the country – so Mr Parsons believes he is well placed to lead the public debate.

He said: “Key to a well-balanced community was everyone feeling valued in an area and open discussion on jobs and services,” he said. “In South Holland we need to look at the impact of immigration on local services and local jobs.”

UKIP wants a referendum on EU membership.

Meanwhile, Mr Parsons has cleared a debt to his former council, which launched legal action to recover £1,500 for 26 trips in a chauffered limousine “not sufficiently connected” to his role as leader.
