Triumphant return for Wallis

For the first time in 2026 the conditions were prime for fast times on the Spalding Cycling club ten-mile TT.

It was a different name at the top of the time sheets but a familiar one from the past.

Josh Wallis returned for a crack at the new for 2026 course and took home the win and course record to go with it, becoming the first rider to go under 20 minutes, winning in a time of 19:50.

He was followed home by Dom Brand setting a course best but one minute 19 seconds behind (21:09).

Matt Chappell rounded out the podium in third in a time of 21:33.

Josh Dixon continued his very strong form in the road bike category, winning in a time of 24:09 holding off Tom Wright 24:58 and the previous week’s Fisherman’s Trophy winner Chris Peel with a strong ride to third (26:37).

Evgeniya Brand kept up her 100 per cent record with another win in the ladies’ category (24:36) enough for tenth overall.

She was followed home by Samantha Briffett (28:06) and Christine Payne still chipping away at her PB in third (29:26).
