Trial date set for man who denies 10 sexual offences against children

A former Long Sutton man who denies sexual charges involving an underage girl is to go on trial next month.

Lee Merrison, 34, then of Delph Road, Long Sutton, was charged with ten offences and appeared before Boston Magistrates in November.

They included four charges of sexual assault on a female, four charges of engaging in sexual communications with a child and two charges of exposure.

The charges all involve one complainant and span between June 28, 2020 and December 1, 2023.

Due to the severity of the charges, Boston Magistrates passed the case on to Lincoln Crown Court where Mr Merrison today (Tues) appeared before Judge Simon Hirst for a pre-trial hearing.

Mr Merrison was granted conditional bail until June 2 when his trial will begin at Lincoln Crown Court.

The court heard Mr Merrison is now living at an address in Elm High Road, Wisbech.
