Town toasts the returning festival

Over 8,500 pints, 4,000 ciders and “a significant amount of gin” were downed as Spalding Festival returned to raise money for local good causes.

After a three-year break the three-day extravaganza put on by Spalding Round Table was back at the Castle Sports Complex last weekend.
Organising committee chairman Tom Bradshaw said though they hadn’t finished working out how much had been raised for charity, it looked set to surpass the total from the most recent years.
“It was just a really good weekend and we’re delighted with how it went,” he said. “It was extremely well supported by the public and local businesses.
“I can’t thank the brilliant volunteers and sponsors enough.
“People say nothing gets done in Spalding but these businesses helped provide something for the town that’s raised lots of money.”
Tom continued that next year’s Spalding Festival will take place at the Castle Sports Complex on May 26 to 28, 2024.
