Three of the Spalding and District Billiards League’s big hitters made fine breaks on Monday night.
Rob Childs (O230) led the way with scores of 67, 61 and 58, while Mick Cooper (O150) weighed in with efforts of 58 and 40 and Mick Johnson (O180) sank a cool 49 and 37.
Childs, the league’s most handicapped peformer, made his scores in a stunning 7-0 win for his Crowland B charges over Gosberton A.
He overcame a total deficit of 350 to beat Andy Shephard (R120) 200-179, while team-mates Paul Holland (R70) and Allan Sharman (R60) also won to complete the whitewash.
Cooper, meanwhile, helped his Long Sutton side beat Consti C 4-3 to stay top of the pile with an 11th win from 14 games.
His win was backed up by Joe Garland (R60), who made a 22 break in the process. Adam Barwell (O60) failed to make it a seven-pointer, but still reeled off a 22 break.
Consti B’s Johnson also won his frame, piping Holbeach B’s Nigel Ward (R100) 200-189 after giving him a 280 start.
Steven Spencer (R100) sealed the success for Consti in the final frame.
Elsewhere, breaks of 33 and 29 from Shane White (O30) helped Gosberton B breat Crowland A 4-3.
Terry Everitt (O10) hit back with breaks of 31 and 23 for the losers.
Second-placed Donington lost 5-2 at Pyramid A despite a fine 38 break from Ben Wrigglesworth (R60).
