Title race heats up

The Pinchbeck and District Winter Darts League Division A title looks set to go to the wire, with both top teams securing emphatic wins this week.

Leaders Lincoln Arms A stormed to an 8-1 home victory over Black Bull, with standout performances from Steve Stancer and Si Hill, both hitting 18-dart legs. John Charlton added flair with a 107 checkout.

Second-placed Royal Mail Cart kept the pressure on with a 7–2 away win at Pinchbeck FC B, where Conor Clift and Connor MacKenzie salvaged two points for the football club.

Consti Club C cruised to an 8-1 home win over Green Dragon A, with Kiaran Grove the lone winner for the Dragon.

Services Club B picked up a solid 7-2 away win at Lincoln Arms D, where Dan Gent was the only singles success for the Lincoln. Andy Palmer also registered a 180 for the home side.

Consti Club B secured a 7-2 home win over bottom side Drayman’s Arms. Kieran Twitchen was the only singles winner for the Drayman’s, beating Scott Lawrence 2-0. Jason Chilvers and Chris Reynolds added a pairs victory.

Kirton Leisure tightened their grip on the Division B title with an 8-1 away win at Services Club A, extending their lead to 17 points. Mark Jones and Tony O’Driscoll earned the points for Services in their pairs game.

Second-placed Consti Club Z were made to work for their 5-4 home win over Pinchbeck FC C, clinched by Mick Atkin’s 2-1 singles win over Jay Vernalls.

At the bottom end of the table, Consti Club A edged out Green Dragon C 5-4 away, with Jamie Mumby sealing the win by beating Jamie Balding 2-0 in the last singles. Chris Mumby impressed with a 108 checkout and Mark Crowson hit a 171.

Consti Club D staged a comeback from 4-3 down to beat Green Dragon Z 5-4, with father and son John and Jonny Robinson winning the final two singles.

Lincoln Arms C also came from behind to clinch a 5-4 away win against Pied Calf, thanks to singles wins from Steve Doades and Bernie Coles. Darren Tansley had a standout 18-dart leg for the Pied Calf in his 2-1 win over Jay Fountain.
