Title hopes are frustrated

Both Moulton Harrox and Crowland Town’s hopes of the Peterborough and District League Premier Division title took a hit on Saturday.

Moulton were held by fellow champion hopefuls Warboys Town 1-1, Ashley Coddington scoring for the hosts.
Crowland were beaten 1-0 by Holbeach United Reserves who moved out of the bottom two.
Also winning to help boost their bid to not be in those spaces was Tydd, a 43rd-minute Charlie Minchella goal enough to see them beat Oakham United 1-0 at home.
Both those sides’ reserves teams met in Division Two, where Tydd were unable to move off the bottom after losing to their counterparts 7-2.
Crowland Town Reserves put some space between themselves and the bottom two with a 1-0 win over Leverington Sports Reserves.
Whaplode Drove Rovers’ title hopes in the division were frustrated by a 0-0 draw at Whittlesey Athletic Development.
Whaplode’s second string are at the wrong end of Division Three and lost 3-1 at Deeping Rangers A. Darryl Mckeeman scored Rovers’ goal.
In Division Four there was a big win for Moulton Harrox Reserves and heavy defeat for South Lincolnshire Swifts.
Second placed Harrox kept the pressure up on leaders Stamford Reserves with a 5-1 win over FC Hampton A courtesy of a Ryan Wheeler double from the bench plus goals from Jacob Drew, Martin Sandall and Ashley Wilson.
Stamford won 6-1 at the Swifts who scored a 59th-minute consolation through Dawid Goss.
In the Sunday League, Crowland drew 1-1 with Cardea while South Holland United won 4-3 at home to league leaders West Raven, Warren Hebblethwaite having got them in front before an Emilio Mead double and Keagan Goodwin’s 85th-minute winner.
