Tickner seals semi spot for Pinchbeck

The Dewhursts Trophies Pinchbeck & District Summer Darts League action centred on the second round of the Ward Trophy, with eight Division B and C teams battling for places in the semi-finals.

Pinchbeck FC A secured their spot with a 6-3 home win over Lincoln Arms D. With her team leading 4-3, Emma Tickner sealed the result with a 2-1 singles victory over Andy Palmer before Anthony Norman added the final point. Josh Burton struck a 180 for the Pinchbeck side.

Drayman’s Arms B also progressed, thanks to a 7-2 win at Lincoln Arms C, where Alex Ward was the home side’s only singles winner and Jake Harris produced a 112 checkout for the Drayman’s.

A tight contest at Green Dragon Z saw the home team edge out Drayman’s Arms Q 5-4. Kieran Day clinched the match in the penultimate singles with a 2-1 win over Leon Carter, while Jason Chilvers took the final singles for the visitors, beating Callum Day 2-1 to narrow the score.

Consti Club were guaranteed a semi-finalist with their D team hosting the B side, and it was the B team who advanced, winning 6-3 after late singles victories from Stu Ewins and Adam Robinson.

With Division A enjoying a free week, several catch-up fixtures were played. Services Club B recorded an impressive 19-8 home win over Kirton Leisure, highlighted by a superb performance from Ady Smith, who hit a 180, a 139 checkout and a 17-dart leg.

Tigers Club were the week’s big movers, playing twice in two days. They opened with a dominant 22-5 home win over Green Dragon A. Jayden Lee hit two 180s in a 3-0 singles win over Andy Porter and, with partner Ash Allen, produced an 18-dart leg in the pairs. Allen added a 122 finish and a 17-dart leg in his singles, while Brett Butler hit a 180 and Claire Brookin recorded an 18-dart leg.

Lee and Butler continued their form the following night in a 19-8 home win over Pinchbeck FC B, both hitting 180s again. Lee produced a 13-dart leg and Butler a 15-dart leg in their singles. Butler and Brookin added an 18-dart pairs leg, and Simon Hill hit a 16-dart leg. For the visitors, Connor Mackenzie and Tom Elderkin managed an 18-dart pairs leg.

In Division C, Green Dragon C moved to the top of the table with their fourth straight win, beating Drayman’s Arms 20-7 away. The only singles win for the hosts came from Lilli Cooper-Ellis, who beat David Lakofski 2-1.
