Throw-off to decide winner

Spalding Darts League attention turns to finals night and the league’s AGM.

The race for the Division One Most 180s award could not be separated, with seven players each recording five maximums during the season.

As a result, a unique nine-dart throw-off will take place on finals night to determine the winner.

Competing are Ant Richardson, Chris Fidler, Duncan Hunt, Finlay Clayton, Sam Roberts, Steve Stancer and Steve Urch.

The highest check-out in Division One was produced by Tony Spinks, who spectacularly finished on 153.

In Division Two, Darren Norton topped the maximums chart with three 180s during the campaign.

The division’s highest check-out award goes to Dan Gent, whose impressive 146 finish proved the best of the season.

Division Three also requires a throw-off to decide the Most 180s accolade after both Callum Day and Gary Coomes recorded two maximums each.

Meanwhile, Martin Wells claimed the highest check-out honour with an excellent 152 finish.

Across all three divisions, the standout performance was a superb 13-dart leg, with one recorded in each division: Division One: Duncan Hunt, Division Two: Paul Blow and Division Three: Jamie Robson.

The league’s AGM will be held on Monday, September 7, at Spalding Services Club at 8pm, and anyone interested in entering a new team for next season is encouraged to attend.

Following the AGM, the action will continue with the Captains’ Cup, Ladies’ Cup and Mixed Pairs competitions, all of which will be played through to a winner on the night.
