Halmer Harriers’ Tod Howard was one of five top six finishers to record a personal best time at Saturday’s Snowden Field parkrun.
His 23mins 22secs time around the Crowland 5K course earned him sixth place, one behind clubmate Adam Caress, who was the only top-ten runner not to claim either a PB or course best. He clocked 22:42.
First across the line was Fenland Running Club’s Dan Tickner, 19:59, and the quickest female finisher was Eye Community Runners’ Julie Wright, who was 22nd of the 78 finishers in 28:12.
The third female to cross the line was Halmer’s Debs Norman, 30th in 31:25, ten places ahead of teammate Rebecca Pearce, 32:45.
Four other Halmer Harriers took on the challenge of the Milton Keynes parkrun. Kathryn Chapman was 503rd of the 709 finishers, 35:25, ahead of Becky Webster, 41:41; Lisa Gill, 41:42; and Jayne Pell, 1:00:31.
Martin Wallis was 84th of 222 at Plymvalley, with Karen Wallis 181st, 37:44, while Janet Strickland complete the Grove Fields parkrun in Oxfordshire, in 38:01.
Completing a busy tourist weekend for the Harriers was Scott Burrell, who was 10th of 253 at another Oxfordshire venue, Witney, in the club’s quickest time of the day, 19:16.
