Thoughtful act for hospital’s children’s ward by tractor-mad Oliver (6)

Enterprising six-year-old Oliver Stanley used his love of tractors to fundraise for the Pilgrim Hospital.

He owns a ride-on electric tractor and trailer and offered short trips to fellow youngsters at Moulton Show in September.

Proud mum Sarah said: “Oliver decided that he wanted to do tractor rides for children and raise money for charity.
“He did his own sign with a little help from Daddy.”

Oliver, who spent nine days in traction at the Boston hospital after breaking a leg just before his third birthday, decided to buy a toy for the children’s ward playroom.
Armed with the takings of almost £20, he headed to Beales Department Store in Spalding – and staff gave him a discount on the dumper truck when he told them about his selfless act.

Sarah added: “I arranged with the children’s ward for Oliver to go and take the toy and donate it himself.
“The nursing staff were thrilled with it and amazed by Oliver’s attitude and thoughtfulness.”
