The future looks bright for Orange after Ayscoughfee Cafe sponsorship

Spalding United Orange under-12s have plenty of reasons to celebrate so far this season.

On the pitch, the young Tulips have been in fantastic form in the Peterborough District Junior Alliance League.

They sit second in Division Four after winning five of their six games – and have also made progress in the Hereward Cup.

Off the pitch, they’ve been boosted by generous sponsorship from Ayscoughfee Cafe.

The cafe, which is situated behind Ayscoughfee Hall and is open seven days a week (10am-3pm), have provided Orange with new rain jackets. Vickie Matthews, of the cafe, was on hand to present the team with their jackets on Saturday.

Any boys or girls not currently playing for a team, but who just want to train, are more than welcome to join Spalding on a Wednesday evening Leaveslake Drove in West Pinchbeck (6.30-8pm).

  • In-form Spalding United Orange under-16s were held to a 1-1 home draw by Parkway Eagles under-16s on Sunday.

Spalding were positive from the start and came close to scoring in the first couple of minutes and had several chances throughout the opening period.

Parkway also had their chances, but found Orange keeper Zack Brown in fine form. He was, however, beaten just before the break to leave the young Tulips 1-0 down.

The second half saw Spalding continue to battle and they were rewarded with a well-taken goal from Ollie Green to secure a share of the spoils.
