Terry (94) swings into action

A 94-year-old who continues to raise funds for, and volunteer at, a hospice is set to host his 16th golf day to benefit it.

Terry Grantham has been supporting St Barnabas and the work it does for three decades.
For one day a week for 15 years he has driven patients to the hospice.
He then also started to give talks to various groups on his memories as a wartime evacuee and donated his fee to St Barnabas.
His fundraising efforts have included a sponsored slim and the regular golf day at Gedney Hill Golf Club.
“If anybody would like to play or sponsor a hole, it would be very much appreciated,” said Terry, ahead of the 16th event he’s put on which will tee off at 8am on Saturday, May 17. “St Barnabas is a fantastic place.
“The look of relief you see on carers’ faces as the hospice staff help is fantastic.
“It gives me great satisfaction to be able to do something for them.”
This year’s event is sponsored by Lynas Vokes, wealth management, of Holbeach.
If any other companies would like to sponsor the event or find out more information they can contact Chrissie Bent on 07766 391877 or Gedney Hill Golf Club on 01406 331377.
“We’ll have the raffle in the club house too,” said Terry.
