Swimming pool remains closed

Spalding’s Castle Sports Complex Swimming Pool is set to be unable to reopen for at least another week.

Work to open the pool has been continuing since last week’s flooding and on Monday the facility posted on social media that it would be closed until “at least 12pm” today (Thursday, August 25).

However the centre operated by Lex Leisure on behalf of South Holland District Council has not yet reopened.

A spokesman for the council told The Voice the authority hopes more information will be available on when the centre can reopen “by the middle of next week”.

Monday’s statement on the pool’s social media channels said: “Please be assured we are doing all we can to have the pools reopen as soon as possible however they will only reopen when safe to do so and with the pool water back within appropriate parameters.

“We look forward to seeing our customers back in the pool and in the meantime thank you for your patience and understanding.”
