Swimmer Jed praised for helping others

A member of Spalding Amateur Swimming Club has been recognised for spending over 100 hours helping his local community.

Jed Devey helps children to swim at the Castle Sports Complex and at the Spalding Gateway Club for those who have a disability.

Spalding Lions Club decided to thank him for his efforts by awarding him the Lions Clubs International Young Leaders in Service Award and recently presented him with a specially signed certificate.

Elaine Mothers, of Spalding Lions, said: “The Lions Club of Spalding was delighted to present Jed with his award.

“The Young Leaders in Service Awards reward the very best young people between the ages of 11 and 18 with certificates signed by the Lion international president.

“Jed has been involved in helping in this community and we are proud of his achievements.”
