The Tydd Gote Angling Club Sunday match at Main Road was fished in mostly overcast conditions with a brisk upstream wind offering the chance of a bream or two for those pegged in the higher number hot spots.
John Taylor was on peg 33 and just took the win with a bream and silvers all on the 6m line for a 9lb total that edged Colin Burton’s two bream haul for 8lb 6oz from form peg 35.
Dave Simmonds, on peg 30, also found a good tench with some bits for 4lb 11oz and third place.
Steve Fox on peg 34, and Andrew Kilby (20) shared fourth place with both bagging 4lb 4oz.
Fox took a solitary bream, while Kilby managed a net of silvers.
