Summer season goes out with a final bang!

The Hereward Sports Pinchbeck & District Summer Darts League came to an end with finals night at Spalding Services Club.

The Ward Trophy was contested between Royal Mail Cart and Green Dragon Z and went down to the final leg. Dragon raced into a 4-1 lead but Mail Cart fought back to make it four-all with singles wins from Reece Winkley, Stef Atudosei and Stu Page. The final game between Josh Ford (Cart) and Toby Lyons (Dragon) saw the Cart man nail the final double to win 2-1 and hand his team the trophy 5-4.
The Division A pairs semi-finals saw Consti Club C’s pairings of Josh and Paul Faulkner and Harry Faulkner and Jacob Herd reach the final by beating Matt Broderick and Stu Ewins (Consti Club B) and Andy Mason and Stan Potter (Pinchbeck FC) respectively. Both games were 2-0.
The singles semi-finals saw A leaguers Steve Gaughan and Paul Blow, both from Lincoln Arms A, go through against Jason Williams (Green Dragon A) and Craig Norbury (Services Club B).
In the B Division semi-finals, Dean Murray (Services Club A) and Joby Booth (Kirton Leisure) booked their place in the final by beating Josh Smith (Kirton Leisure) and Dean Peacock (Green Dragon Z).
The Knockout Cup final proved to be one-sided with Lincoln Arms A seeing off Green Dragon A 8-1 to add the cup to their league title. The only winners for the Dragon were Shayne Hubbard and Dan Martin against Jimmy Tenno and Karl Rolfe.
The Ladies’ Cup singles final was an all-Lincoln Arms D clash and saw Stacey Banister beat Eva Spinks 2-1.
The Captains’ Cup final was won 2-1 by Steve Stancer (Lincoln Arms A) against Stu Page (Royal Mail Cart).
The mixed pairs final saw Lincoln Arms D’s Dan Gent and Banister beat their team-mates, father and daughter duo, Jason and Eydee Chilvers 2-0.
The Division B pairs final saw Kirton Leisure team mates Jamie Clark and Booth and Josh Smith and Mark Ledger coming up against each other, with Clark and Booth winning 2-0.
The Division A Pairs final was a family affair with father and son Paul and Josh Faulkner playing another of Paul’s sons Harry, who teamed up with Herd. It was Harry who came out on top with him and Herd winning 2-0.
The Division B singles final, between Dean Murray (Services Club A) and Booth (Kirton Leisure), saw Booth unable to add to his pairs title, with Murray winning 2-1.
The Division A singles final was an all-Lincoln Arms A contest and saw Gaughan run out a convincing 3-0 winner against Blow.
The prestigious Mark Tansley Trophy was contested between last winter’s singles champion Stancer and the new summer singles champion Gaughan, both from Lincoln Arms A.
In a close game, it was Gaughan who hit the concluding double in a five-leg thriller to win 3-2.
The committee thanked MC Ian Tilley, Di Langston for the photographs, local media including the Spalding Voice, and Spalding Services Club and bar staff.
