Suites and dead chickens dumped

A new council Twitter account has taken to posting photographs of fly-tipped rubbish in a bid to help identify the culprits.

In the last couple of weeks, the Twitter account of the South Holland District Council Community Safety team (@SHDC_commsafety) has posted photos of a three-piece suite fly-tipped on the outskirts of Spalding and a collection of household rubbish with details of a items including a pink child’s guitar and a gardening encyclopedia.

There are less savoury images, posted too. A spread of dog poo was snapped in Holbeach and uploaded to the Twitter account, while in the Dawsmere area near Gedney Drove End, 30 black sacks with chicken carcasses spilling out were found and photographed by the team.

Other recent sightings include a fly-tipped plastic shed and old wooden swing seat dumped near Shepeau Stow.

The Twitter account is run by the recently appointed council wardens who work across South Holland.
