LETTERS – Have you heard or seen Santa?

I write with regards the subject of Santa Claus.

A hearing of his sleigh bells was formally recorded around 1954 in the region of Stockhouse Lane and Chase Road in Surfleet.

They were heard by a boy who lived there.

I know this because his mother told my aunties and I was in the room and heard her very words.

I am interested to know if any similar hearings or sighting of Santa have been recorded in the Spalding area in the last hundred years – on the night of the 24th I mean.

I am a fairly good sleeper so his bells never woke me but I know he exists because he always drank the sherry and ate the mince pie which we put on the heath for him.

Yours, hoping he will leave me a Giles annual.
