Successful first weekend for store

The newest shop opening in Spalding town centre saw records tumble at Furniture Warehouse.

The former Beales department store has been transformed into a new store.
“It was a really amazing weekend for us and the feedback has been so positive. Saturday, the official day of opening, broke a company-wide record for the most amount of orders placed in a single day,” said Alex Raspin, sales and marketing director.
“We have never seen anything like it, the store was packed with customers, literally hundreds across the two days.
“There were queues at the till and as a launch it was more successful than the opening of our flagship store in the centre of Peterborough last year, which was incredible really.
“I would like to thank the people of Spalding for supporting the opening. Clearly, there is an appetite here for genuinely affordable furniture and home accessories, and long may that continue. We are thrilled to be here,” Mr Raspin added.
The company has recently opened branches in Corby, Peterborough, and Wisbech.
Beales, formerly Westgate, closed for good in February 2020. The Spalding site was split with The Original Factory Shop taking half of the old shop premises.
The rest of the prominent building remained unused.
