Tony Fox, Sutton Bridge Seniors’ captain, hosted the Sutton Bridge Seniors’ Invitational Better Ball Stableford competition on Wednesday, August 5.
All funds raised, which amounted to £720 plus bucket collection, were donated to St Barnabas Lincolnshire.
The day started with coffee and bacon rolls, then after the first nine holes there was a halfway house with snacks.
Another nine holes of golf then finished the competition.
The winners on countback were Wally Lawes (SBGC) and Steve Sayer (Spalding GC).
Second were Andy Parks (SBGC) and Dougie Robertson (Nene Park GC), 3rd Vic Smith (Spalding GC) and Andrew Broughton (Spalding GC).
The nearest the pin on the second hole was Alan Worthington (Rushmore GC).
The nearest the pin on the sixth was Andrew Broughton (Spalding GC).
After the competition there a meal was provided which was enjoyed all.
The players came from as far away as Ipswich to Peterborough, Sudbrook, and Boston.
The seniors’ section thanked everyone who helped in any way to make the day a success and raise over £720 for St Barnabas.
The main event was sponsored by Leesons Garage of Sutton Bridge.
The nearest the pin prizes were sponsored by Space Builders of Tydd St Giles.
