Substitute Gaukroger fires Pinchbeck United to first win of the season

Pinchbeck United 2
Sleaford Town 1

Jamie Gaukroger’s second-half strike earned Pinchbeck United a hard-fought 2-1 win over Sleaford Town on Wednesday night.

The Knights went ahead early on at the Sir Halley Stewart Playing Field when Ollie Maltby netted his second goal in as many games this season.

Tom Garrick restored parity for Sleaford soon after, but Maltby saw a penalty saved before the half-time whistle sounded.

The miss didn’t prove too costly, though, with Gaukroger jumping off the bench to seal a first Uhlsport UCL Premier Division win of the season for Ian Dunn’s side.
