Strawsome fun attracts crowds

Around 500 people flocked to Moulton last weekend for the village’s annual Garden Crawl and Scarecrow Festival.

Villagers dotted a host of straw-based creations around the area while 14 private gardens were open to enjoy for one weekend only.

As well as trails and games for kids, there was the opportunity to vote for the best scarecrow.

The winning entry for the second year running was Tim and Sandra Clowes-Pritchard of Bell Lane, this year recreating a scene from the Flintstones. They again donated their £25 winnings to the Moulton Community Association. In total over £2,500 was raised for it.

One of the organisers, Jim Scarsbrook, said: “We were extremely delighted with how the weekend went and most importantly with all the positive feedback.

“I think we attracted more families than we ever have before which was great and around 500 visitors over the weekend.

“Thank you to everyone who opened their gardens, created scarecrows or helped out over the weekend, as well as everyone for coming and enjoying their visits.”
