Staff vs students football game scores £200 for good cause

An annual football match between a school’s staff and students has raised more than £200.
The annual Sir John Gleed School Staff vs Post 16 Students Football match has boosted the coffers of the Callum Pite Smile Charity, set up in memory of a former Pinchbeck schoolboy.
Representatives of the good cause were present during the game which saw the staff team wearing a Boston United kit in honour of Callum who was a member of the Boston United Football in the Community team.
The game finished 1-1, with the staff team taking the lead in the first half, with the Post 16 Students equalising mid-way through the second half through an own goal.
A school spokesman said: “The game was played in fantastic spirit and is a fitting way of remembering Callum and his love of football, especially his beloved Liverpool.
“Plans are already being made for the second leg before Easter.”
