Spalding’s referees make a new Friend as Kevin is special guest at meeting

Premier League official Kevin Friend was the special guest at the recent meeting of Spalding Referees Association.

The meeting at Spalding United saw a good attendance as Friend talked about his rise from grass roots to the most watched league in the world and the difficulties he encountered on the way.

He also welcomed comments about clips of film and opened to any questions.

The next meeting is Thursday, November 30 – again at Spalding’s Sir Halley Stewart Playing Field ground – with a 7pm start.

Meanwhile, Peterborough Referees are organising their ninth Young Referees night at the Fleet, Fleet Way, Fletton, Peterborough PE2 8DL on Thursday, November 16. Doors open at 6.15pm (6.45pm) start.

Premier League Referee Mike Jones will be the headline guest.
