Dianne Platt is the toast of Spalding Golf Club ladies’ section after winning the Lincolnshire Senior Championship title.
The Spalding ace returning a gross 81 (nett 70) to take top spot at the Mark Rasen GC event.
Platt’s handicap was also reduced from 11 to ten as a result of her county heroics.
- Some 31 lady members from Spalding GC entered the 27-hole Mary Hendry medal competition, with Elaine Hancock emerging victorious.
Her nett 113.5 was enough to edge Dianne Platt (114) into second spot.
Angela Roper (114.5) took third place on count back on the last six holes from Elizabeth Holbrook.
- Spalding ladies were beaten 4-1 by Middleton Hall in the fourth round of the Mail on Sunday competition.
In what was a very close clash, Elizabeth Holbrook was Spalding’s sole winner (5&4). Anita Cross and Ruth Atkin both went to the 18th, losing one and two down respectively, while Angela Roper lost on the 16th and Dianne Platt was defeated on the 17th.
