Spalding RFC pleased with turnout for fun day at New Ground

Spalding RFC’s summer fun day on Saturday went down a storm with all who attended.

A host of visitors enjoyed the numerous activities on offer at Spalding’s New Ground on Drain Bank, with more events planned for the future.

Club chairman John Constable said: “We were pleased with how our first summer sports day went and enjoyed welcoming a lot of new visitors to the club and were pleased to have the involvement of 20 trade stands, Holbeach Town Band and Spalding Fire Brigade amongst other things which gave them plenty to do.

“Some younger visitors also took part in our sports activities – which included obstacle courses, running and sack races as well as several throwing games.”

Mini and junior rugby sessions will start at the club’s Drain Bank North ground on Sunday, September 5 (10.30am) when any new players will be very welcome to attend.
