There was glitz and glamour galore as Spalding ball-goers strutted their stuff on the red carpet at the annual Midsummer Ball.

Springfields Events Centre was packed as 575 enjoyed the BAFTA-themed ball, thanks to great entertainment and tasty food.

Committee chairman Tanya Beresford said: “We had a great night and have had loads of positive feedback, some people have even booked for next year.
“We don’t know how much we have raised yet but we usually aim for around £20,000.
“The money is split between Macmillan Cancer Support, Action Medical Research and a local charity, which this year is the teenage oncology unit at Peterborough Hospital.”

Entertainment came from a Del Boy lookalike, actor Kieron Richardson from Hollyoaks and the Fraud Monty – a take-off of the Full Monty.

A full spread of photos is published in the June 26 edition of the paper.
