Spalding man (44) in court charged with making 4,546 indecent images of children

A 44-year-old man charged with making more than 4,500 indecent images of children has had his case sent for trial at crown court.

Roy William Hayes, of Gaunt Close, Spalding, is accused of making:

  • 128 category A still photographs
  • 428 category A moving images
  • 128 category B still photographs
  • 245 category B moving images
  • 2,169 category C still photographs
  • 1,448 category C moving images

Category A images are the most serious.
All six counts are said to have happened at Hayes’ home in various periods between October 28, 2009 and March 16, 2016.

He is also charged with possessing an extreme pornographic image (a person performing oral sex on a dog) on March 30, 2016.

Hayes appeared at Boston Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday (January 4) and is next due to appear at Lincoln Crown Court on Wednesday, February 1.
Bail was granted with the condition that he has no unsupervised access to any child under the age of 16.
